Is The NIV Missing Verses?!

Is the NIV version of the Bible really missing verses?  Today we look at Luke 9:56 and compare the NIV to the KJV.  Why does the NIV seem to be missing an entire sentence?  This tends to be an over-spiritualized topic so I thought it would be helpful to offer a basic explanation with regard to textual criticism…
